John Paul Merritt

As President of Pony Global Energy, John Paul Merritt is building upon a well-established career as a CEO and thought-leader in the energy industry. Most notably, Mr. Merritt is the Founder and CEO of Pony Oil, a renowned mineral investment firm based in Texas. In addition to his pursuits in energy extraction, trading, investing, and technology, Merritt is the Founder and Chairman of Merritt Plus, a family office with investments spanning real estate, space technology, hospitality, restaurants, biodegradable plastic manufacturing, and a myriad of other ventures.

Matthew McCormack

Matt’s career in oil and gas has included everything from mineral rights to trading futures, which has lead him to become the CEO of Pony Global Energy: the downstream division of Pony Oil. At Pony, Matt continues to utilize deep relationships from around the world to bridge the gaps between culture, geopolitics, and  oil and gas. Matt has led Pony’s expansion into East Africa, South and Central America, and various tribal governments inside and outside of the United States.

One of Matt’s focuses outside of oil and gas is giving back to US veterans through various non-profits. At one time Matt ran the business development & new market initiatives for U&I Spread the Light, which has helped over 2000 homelessness veterans and employs people with severe disabilities. Matt also still runs a computer lab for homeless vets in his spare time.

Matt has also sat on the Foreign Direct investment round table with the inter-American development bank and United Nations for the country of Haiti, which raised 400 million through the repackage and amendments of Haitis Hope Act.

Bryan Gordon

Bryan Gordon is General Counsel at Pony Global Energy. Prior to PGE, Mr. Gordon honed his expertise at renowned energy companies Chesapeake Energy and Gulfport Energy Corporation. Before that he served as Assistant General Counsel at Flywheel Energy. At PGE, Mr. Gordon ensures regulatory compliance and guides the company through complex legal matters. Mr.Gordon holds a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Oklahoma, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History from Duke University.
